A nice hike in the woods can lead to great adventures but only if you have the supplies, you don't have to carry a lot of water if you can make it as you go. Compact, light, easy to use, easy to maintain and easy to repair. 5 stars, it's something you can't live without.

Clean and Safe Water! Reviews MSR Miniworks EX Microfilter
The MSR MiniWorks is a very compact and easy to use ceramic filter that
easily outlasts any other filter I have ever used. As part of the EMS
Strike Team we are dispatched to disaster areas where clean water may or
may NOT be readily available, that makes purification a MUST for the
stand-by bag.

Reviews Katadyn Pocket Water Microfilter
Being a lot on the field for my studies, I rely entirely on this Katadyn Pocket Water Microfilter
filter and it has never deceived me. Just don't forget the carbon filter
(20$ more) if you want full protection. The basic filter is only
efficient against bacterias whereas the carbon filter capture most of
the remaining chemicals produced by the bacterias.
If you search the web, you'll find a lot of reports of the $85 pumps
eventually breaking, especially plastic handles. If you have to replace
them (or their short-lived filters), you've already well into what it
would cost to buy a Katadyn Pocket. This thing is pretty damn tough, and
the only way to break it would be to take it apart and drop the inner
ceramic filter.
Really efficient and fairly quick! Reviews Katadyn Vario Multi Flow Water Microfilter
Having just finished a hike into the San Bernadino Mountains we were sure glad we had this Katadyn Vario Multi Flow Water Microfilter along. When you are going up to 8500 feet+ you better load up on water. Filters last longer and works better on the slow setting. Light weight and a must for backpacking.
Fills a liter bottle in about 10 seconds. I love that it has a floaty
on the intake so that it keeps it off the floor of the water source.
Easy to use and clean. The only thing I don't like is that water leaks
out of the side while you are pumping. Extensive review of the Katadyn Vario MultiFlow Water Microfilter, one of the best water purifiers for hiking, camping, backpacking and travel.
